Translator installation
To begin, let’s install a translator.
Although all add-ons are installed using almost the same algorithm for translating web pages, like other extensions for the Opera browser. After all, go to the Opera official website in the Add-ons section.
There we search for the desired translation extension. After finding the required material, go to the page of this extension and click on the big lake button “Add Opera”.
After a brief installation procedure, you can use the translator installed in your browser.
Top extensions
And now let’s take a closer look at the extensions that are considered the best of Opera browser additions designed to translate web pages and tests.
Google Translator
Among the most popular add-ons for translating text online is Google Translate. It can translate both web pages and individual pieces inserted from the clipboard. At the same time, the supplement uses the resources of Google’s anonymous services, one of the leaders in electronic translation, and provides the most accurate results that not every similar system can. The Opera Browser extension, the service itself, supports a large number of translation instructions between different world languages.
Working with the Google Translator extension should start by clicking on the browser toolbar icon. In the window that opens, you can enter text and perform other manipulations.
The main drawback of add-ons is that the processed text size should not exceed 10,000 characters.
Translate
Another popular addition to the Opera browser for translation is the translation extension. It, like the previous extension, integrates with the Google Translate system. But, unlike Google Translate, the translation does not set icons in the browser toolbar. Only when you visit a site whose language extensions are separated from a set by “local” in the settings, a frame is suggested to translate this web page.
However, translating text from the clipboard does not support this extension.
Translator
Unlike previous extensions, the Translator add-on cannot translate a web page entirely, but it can translate individual text pieces into it, as well as the text of the operating system clipboard inserted in a special window.
Among the advantages of the extension is that it supports work with an online translation service, but at multiple times: Google, Yandex, Bing, Promet and others.
Yandex.Translate
Not difficult to determine by name, Yandex. The translation extension is based on the work of an online translator from Yandex. This supplement points the cursor to a foreign word, translates it by selecting it or by pressing the Ctrl key, but, unfortunately, it does not know how to translate entire web pages.
After installing this add-on, the “Find Yandex” item is added to the browser’s context menu when selecting a word.
XTranslate
Unfortunately, the XTranslate extension can not only translate individual pages of the site but it also enables the cursor to translate not only the words but also the text on the buttons located on the site, input fields, links and images. At the same time, it supports complementary work with three online translation services: Google, Yandex and Bing.
Additionally, XTranslate can play speech text.
ImTranslator
Complementary ImTranslator is a real combination for translation. With the integration of Google, Bing and the Translator translation system, it can translate into all 91 world languages. Extensions can translate both individual words and entire web pages. Among other things, a complete dictionary is built into this extension. There is a possibility of word reproduction in 10 languages.
The main drawback of the extension is that it does not exceed a maximum of 10,000 characters to translate at a time.
We have said that it is far from all the translation extensions used in Opera browser. They are much more. At the same time, however, the above pages can meet the needs of most users who need to translate web pages or text.
